Lead retinal program

Wet AMD: AAV‑IKV‑Decorin.

Wet AMD is driven by choroidal neovascularization and is commonly treated through repeated anti‑VEGF injections. Visiogene is developing a durable gene therapy approach around decorin, a multifunctional proteoglycan relevant to angiogenesis, fibrosis, inflammation, and autophagy.

Development rationale
  • Designed to deliver human decorin to the outer retina through intravitreal administration
  • Targets biology beyond VEGF, including TGFβ‑mediated fibrosis
  • Preclinical model data include inhibition of CNV and fibrosis
  • Potential to address treatment burden and incomplete response biology

Anterior segment program

Glaucoma: AAV‑IKV‑Decorin.

Glaucoma programs are built around the hypothesis that local decorin expression can counter TGFβ2‑driven trabecular meshwork fibrosis and the resulting elevation in intraocular pressure.

01

Mechanistic focus

The program targets extracellular matrix remodeling and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition at the trabecular meshwork.

02

Delivery focus

AAV‑IKV is being developed for intracameral administration to reach the ciliary body, trabecular meshwork, and cornea.

03

Translational focus

Preclinical studies include murine disease modeling and an initial non-human primate tolerability signal with AAV‑IKV‑GFP plus Nuc1.

Discovery program

Dry AMD: undisclosed complement-targeted treatment.

Visiogene’s dry AMD discovery effort builds on the founder’s prior complement gene therapy experience and explores an undisclosed local complement-modulation strategy for retinal disease.

Program focus
  • Undisclosed complement-targeted payload design and selection
  • Local retinal expression strategies
  • Potential platform fit with AAV‑IKV delivery
  • Partnering-ready discovery optionality

Discovery program

Undisclosed retinal degeneration treatment.

Visiogene is maintaining an undisclosed retinal degeneration program designed to extend the delivery platform into additional acquired or inherited retinal disease settings.

Program focus
  • Undisclosed therapeutic biology
  • Platform fit across retinal cell targets
  • Indication and payload selection
  • Designed to preserve strategic optionality
